After much heated discussion, following lengthy protests and in the wake of both national and local support and criticism; Gov. Jan Brewer signed S.B.1070 into law just moments ago, referring to the new law as "another step forward in protecting the state of Arizona."  Governor Brewer also stated that the bill was the state's only choice given the federal government's failure to secure the nation's borders. Immigration Enforcement is a touchy subject.  There is no easy way to deal with it.  Offended are Liberals and Mexican Americans alike; because Arizona has "singled out an ethnic population" and most definitely not because illegal immigration is a crime.  Despite the outcry against Immigration Enforcement in Arizona, the support for such measures has a  much higher approval ratings than disapproval.  For or against the measure, an important aspect is being grossly over looked.  National security. Where the parties go wrong is espousing rhetoric over values. To be honest, it drives me crazy! How Liberal is a Democrat and how Conservative is a Republican? And I mean that seriously. Liberalism that was once was adorned with such words as “Ask not what your country can do for you…” Words that were further right arguably than the practices of ANY Republican in office today. This is why I believe many “Democrats” with strong Liberal values currently stand against an administration that has embodied any thing but true Liberal values. Ideologues themselves, are supported by ideologues only. (Read more).

It gets difficult to imagine better days.  For the first time in America's history, Americans do not predict better days of greater opportunities for the next generation.  The people have watched historic government spending establish its place as the only true partisan practice of the two most recent administrations, and finally, the robbing Paul is desperately seeking ways to repay the robbed Peter! As Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid backed off a major push on immigration reform, citing the issue may prove too volatile for the embattled Democrats struggling to maintain a majority in an election year, while just recently declaring in the state of Nevada immigration reform cannot wait.  The mixed signals coming from Washington and the Obama administration were met in the state of Arizona with anything but mixed signals on how best to deal with the illegal immigration issue.  Tuesday, the state of Arizona pushed forward with its own sweeping immigration legislation by passing immigration-enforcement 35-21. And let the games begin!  For months the Tea Party has been under Democratic attack to discredit the organization.  Claims of racism and violence that have been blamed on the Tea Party protestors have gone largely unsubstantiated. It was on the eve of the historic vote to pass health care reform that Rep. John Lewis claimed he was called the N-word by Tea Party protesters.  Andrew Breitbart pledged a $100,000 donation to the United Negro College Fund if anyone could provide proof of the alleged incident.  As of yet no one has stepped forward.  It was not the unsubstantiated aspect of the accusations, but the accusations themselves that Democrat Party supports embraced.  Race baiting soared to new heights in the blogosphere.  One Facebook user now solely posts notes and discussions condemning the Tea Party; all based solely on accusation. Today that may all well change courtesy of New York gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino. (Read More).

Could it be that the health care reform war has seen its first casualty?  Well, second casualty if you count the US Constitution.  Many have long since stated that supporting the legislation was essentially political suicide.  From the roof top of reform now leaps Rep. Bart Stupak. (Read more).

If John F. Kennedy were alive today he would reject the Modern Liberal. Health Care Reform, the connotations and implications associated with it with would be equally denounced as he would insist that the Modern Liberal today is in fact; not a Liberal at all.  (Read more).

Many have been leery of the president’s campaign intentions to develop a civilian militia “larger than the Armed Forces.” Concerns were heightened with H. R. 1388: serve America Act, which many claimed to lay the foundation for such a militia while others attributed the bill and its passage last April to an uncanny resemblance of Hitler’s Youth.  Read more.
